John Wellington aka “Big John,” is a kickboxing instructor with an array of athletic and coaching experience
A former high school All American, John was a member of the Syracuse University Orangemen Football team during the years of 1995 through 1999. During that time period, he trained and played with Donovan McNabb, Marvin Harrison, Kevin Abrams, Donovan Darius, Keith Bulluck, Dwight Freeney, and many other teammates that would eventually have NFL careers. With the knowledge gained from his experience, he went on to a short stint of coaching high school athletes, but was fortunate to have coached current NFL star Tamba Hali. In 2009 John was one of the first people inducted into the Teaneck High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
In 2004, John began his journey in traditional Chinese Martial Arts. As a practitioner of Jow Ga Kung Fu, John progressed quickly and was soon a respected coach of the Jow Ga Kung Fu Athletic Association of Columbia Maryland, where he coached for 4 years. As of this day, John still practices his craft every day.
John is well versed in strength training, weight training, agility training, plyometric training, flexibility training, Martial Fitness, Martial Athletics, Traditional Chinese Martial Arts and Chi Gung.
